The centre of Thorpe-le-Soken is just a short walk from the park, and boasts an impressive selection of local shops, restaurants and pubs. Thorpe Le-Soken dates from Saxon times and has a number of historic houses and buildings providing the village with a character distinct from Frinton-on-Sea or Walton, which both later developed as seaside resorts.
You will find the award-winning Lifehouse Spa & Hotel just a few minutes’ walk from the park. Set in 130 acres of grounds including 12 acres of lovingly restored English heritage gardens this contemporary spa offers an exclusive experience within a relaxing environment. The bar & restaurant at Lifehouse is open to non-residents for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a seasonal menu using fresh local produce. There is also a Spa Café. Lifehouse has 35 treatment rooms offering a range of treatments to local people, in addition a spa area with pool, gym and an energy studio with an extensive activity schedule. Lifehouse offer Elm Farm residents a membership for short or long term staying guests over the age of 16.
