Local beaches & golf courses
Beer A sloping south facing pebble beach in a sheltered cove adjacent to limestone cliffs. Very good beach for swimming - care needed as the pebbles shelve under the water.
Branscombe A very uncommercialised, gently sloping south facing pebble beach extending for approximately 2 miles.
Budleigh Salterton A two mile long, large pebble beach - set in a bay with red sandstone cliffs to the west. Very quiet and uncrowded. Swimming is zoned.
Exmouth A large, flat sandy south facing beach on the Exe Estuary which is ideal for families. Bathing is good but swimmers should take note of the zoned areas.
Sandy Bay A large sheltered sandy cove extending for half a mile.
Sidmouth Sheltered south facing sand and pebble beach below promenade. Popular sailing and sea angling venue.
