Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Front of House Apprentice to get involved with a national company at a local level. You will provide a high standard service at The Olive Tree Restaurant within our prestigious Norfolk Park.

Your main duties will involve:

• Maintain food safety when storing, handling and serving food
• Serve food at the counter
• Prepare and serve dispensed and instant hot drinks using specialist equipment
• Prepare, clear and maintain areas and deal with payments.
• Keep the kitchen and restaurant areas clean and tidy to a high standard
• Help to clean down equipment at the end of shifts
• Maintain a high standard, professional image at all times
• Offer 5 start quality service to all customers and visitors

A permanent position may be available for the right candidate following successful completion of the apprenticeship. The business is looking for somebody who wants to develop and gain a full time position following their Apprenticeship.

You will be required to work 30 hours per week on a shift basis. The restaurant is open 7 days per week between 8am and 9.30pm. Weekend and evening work is required. This is a physically demanding role which will involve long periods on your feet. You will be required to work shifts, which will include evenings and weekends.

Candidate specifications

We are looking for somebody with enthusiasm and a desire to learn and develop within our business. We hope to encourage apprentices to take on a large variety of roles within our business and have a diverse work day. Customer service is a core aspect of our business, it is therefore important for a confident attitude with the ability to initiate contact with customers and communicate with customers from many different backgrounds.

You will need to be a well presented, motivated, reliable and punctual individual. You will need to be able to adapt to change and be a good team player with the ability to use your own initiative.

For the full Apprenticeship, you will complete the following:

• City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Services,
• City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality
• Catering Principles (Hospitality Services), Functional Skills in Maths and English at Level 1.

Qualifications required:

• Maths and English at GCSE grades A-C preferable
